Appointments & Services

Booking an appointment through our Website, by phone, or through any linked patient portal is subject to availability and confirmation by our office. An appointment request does not constitute a guaranteed booking until you receive a confirmation from our team.

We reserve the right to:

  • Decline to provide services to any individual for clinical, ethical, or logistical reasons at our sole discretion
  • Require new patients to complete intake forms and provide insurance or payment information prior to their appointment
  • Reschedule or cancel appointments due to provider availability, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances
  • Modify, add, or discontinue any service offering without prior notice

All clinical services are provided by licensed medical professionals in accordance with applicable standards of care and South Carolina law. The Breast Place’s services are intended for patients located in or able to travel to the North Charleston, SC area.

05

Patient Responsibilities

As a patient of The Breast Place, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information regarding your health history, medications, allergies, and insurance coverage
  • Promptly notify us of any changes to your personal, insurance, or health information
  • Follow the treatment plans, aftercare instructions, and recommendations provided by your care team
  • Arrive on time for scheduled appointments; late arrivals may result in reduced appointment time or rescheduling
  • Treat all staff members and other patients with courtesy and respect
  • Inform us of any concerns or dissatisfaction with your care so we have the opportunity to address them
  • Be financially responsible for any charges not covered by your insurance, including co-pays, deductibles, and non-covered services

Failure to meet these responsibilities may affect your ability to receive services at The Breast Place.

06

Payments & Billing

The Breast Place accepts most major health insurance plans. It is your responsibility to verify that our providers are in-network with your insurance plan prior to your appointment. We will make reasonable efforts to assist with insurance verification, but cannot guarantee coverage determinations made by your insurer.

Payment for services not covered by insurance, including co-payments and deductibles, is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made. We accept the following forms of payment:

  • Major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover)
  • Cash and personal checks
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Financing arrangements where available and approved

Unpaid balances are subject to collection processes. You will be notified before any account is referred to a collections agency. We are committed to working with patients who experience financial hardship — please speak with our billing team to discuss available options.

Questions About Your Bill?

Please contact our billing team at (843) 797-1941 before disputing any charge. We are happy to review your account and clarify any questions.

07

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unexpected situations arise. We ask that you provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  • Cancellations with 24+ hours notice: No fee. We will reschedule your appointment at the next available time that works for you.
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice): A cancellation fee may apply, depending on the type of appointment and whether our team was unable to fill the slot.
  • No-shows: Patients who do not arrive for a scheduled appointment without prior notice may be charged a no-show fee and may be required to prepay for future appointments.
  • Surgical appointments: Cancellations of surgical procedures require a minimum of 48 hours notice. Late cancellations of surgical appointments may result in forfeiture of any deposit paid.

Repeated cancellations or no-shows may affect your ability to schedule future appointments. We reserve the right to discharge a patient from the practice after documented patterns of non-compliance, with appropriate notice.
