Hello, Warriors! Welcome to The Breast Place blog and thank you for taking time out of your active schedule to visit! We appreciate our readers to the utmost degree, as we do our patients. If this is your first visit to The Breast Place blog, we welcome you. We cover a range of topics here. From breast cancer management to anti-aging skin treatments to helpful tips for maximizing your overall health and wellness—The Breast Place is committed to sharing the best health practices and treatment options with you! Our offices are open and our staff is prepared to answer any questions you may have about your health, your breast cancer risk, and how to reach your aesthetic goals.
At The Breast Place, we offer several oncoplastic surgical procedures, such as natural reconstruction, nipple-sparing mastectomy, Hidden Scar™, implant reconstruction, and breast lift with or without reduction. Oncoplastic surgery is distinct from both breast cancer surgery and plastic surgery–though you initially assume oncoplastic surgery to be a mixture of both. Rather, the aim of oncoplastic breast surgery is “to achieve good aesthetic outcomes for women with breast cancers who would have unacceptable outcomes with other BCS techniques, and in addition, enable breast-conserving surgery for larger breast cancers.” While breast cancer surgery prioritizes the eradication of cancerous tissue and plastic surgery prioritizes the cosmetic appearance of the breasts, oncoplastic surgery takes both of these aspects into account when planning for the final outcome. You can find out more information about what to look for in an Oncoplastic surgeon here. Our last article discussed dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are an injectable treatment that can help minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in the face, lips, and hands. We discussed what fillers are actually made of, types of fillers, what they are best for, and what to expect during your appointment. If you are interested in learning more, we encourage you to check out our last post! Before we continue with today’s topic, we’d like to make you aware of what we have to offer at The Breast Place this month. It’s June, and summer is right around the corner! The weather is getting more and more beautiful and we hope you are feeling just as great. Our product of the month is EltaMD Sunscreen! These sunscreens help prevent sunburn while decreasing the risk of skin cancer. They are formulated with zinc oxide, which helps to heal damaged skin. This month, we are offering 25% off ALL EltaMD products! These products are noncomedogenic, fragrance-free, paraben-free, and sensitivity-free. You can learn more about the EltaMD products we have available on our website. Stop by our office or reach out to us today to take advantage of this month’s offer! We can even ship products to your door! Remember, you should never go outside without SPF protection. Today, we’ll be talking about some DIY face masks that you can make easily at home! Not only is making face masks a fun activity, but you also know exactly what ingredients are in them, putting you in control! This can help enhance your skincare routine and give your skin some much-needed TLC. (We also think it makes for a great at-home spa day or girl’s night!) Face masks are generally used to infuse the skin with helpful ingredients and moisture. We’ll be sharing different recipes and breaking down how each ingredient can benefit your skin. If you’re interested in learning more, stick around! Let’s get started. Nourishing and Smoothing Mask First up is this homemade mask that targets fine lines and wrinkles while providing plenty of moisture. Here are the ingredients:
Slice the banana peel with a knife and mash up the banana before mixing in the rest of the ingredients. You should end up with a yellow paste. Apply a thin layer of the paste all over your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, remove it by rinsing it with warm water or with a wet washcloth. Be sure to remove all of the mask from your face. Your skin should be noticeably softer! Why this mask works: Bananas contain potassium, which enhances moisture. They also are packed with vitamins E and C. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, which helps protect your skin cells from damage. Vitamin C is known to help slow skin aging and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Raw honey helps balance bacteria on the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is also a natural exfoliator, which means it gently removes dead skin cells. Yogurt contains lactic acid, which helps dissolve dead skin cells. It also soothes and moisturizes the skin. Turmeric is antiseptic and antibacterial, so it can help prevent acne breakouts. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties that can calm already-inflamed areas. It is also known to brighten the skin to improve complexion. Soothing Mask This mask is great for inflamed skin, whether it’s from breakouts, rashes, or sunburn. It’s also incredibly easy to make, with only two ingredients:
Place the oats in a mixing bowl and then add milk. Mix well until it makes a smooth paste. Apply the mixture to your face, and neck if desired. Let sit for about 20 minutes and then rinse off with warm water for cool, calm skin! Why this mask works: Oatmeal has long been known for its benefits to the skin. It is packed with proteins and vitamin E, which is an antioxidant. Oatmeal moisturizes, protects, and exfoliates the skin, and has anti-inflammatory properties that can treat itchy and dry skin and can reduce redness. It also contains flavonoids, which are plant compounds that provide antioxidant protection as well as protection from UV rays. (Note: This is not an alternative to sunscreen!) Oatmeal can also soak up excess oil that may lead to acne, as well as kill off acne-causing bacteria. Milk is packed with naturally occurring proteins that help boost the elasticity of the skin, which can result in fewer wrinkles. It contains lactic acid, which helps remove dead skin cells. Hydrating Mask If you have dry skin, you’ve probably tried everything for hydration. This DIY mask might just be the key to giving your skin the moisture it craves, without irritation. Here are the ingredients:
Cut and peel the avocado, removing the pit. Mash it up in a mixing bowl and add your other ingredients. Mix the ingredients together until you have a smooth, green paste. Apply a thin layer to the face and let sit for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water for incredibly soft and moisturized skin! Why this mask works: Avocados are known as a super fruit because they are high in healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. They are excellent sources of vitamin E and C, just like bananas. The natural oils within avocados help nourish, soften, and hydrate the skin. Avocados are also rich in antioxidants. As mentioned above, yogurt and honey both soothe and moisturize the skin. Olive oil is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K. Vitamin A speeds up healing and prevents breakouts. Vitamin D contributes to cell growth and repair. Vitamin K helps protect collagen, making your skin appear more plump and youthful. Olive oil is also an antioxidant and can help prevent damage from UV rays. It helps moisturize and can fight off acne-causing bacteria. These are just a few of the DIY face masks that you can make with ingredients at home! These masks are a great way to practice self-care and promote healthy, glowing skin at the same time. Of course, you should avoid ingredients that you are allergic to, and we encourage you to consult a dermatologist if you are unsure about any particular ingredients. We hope you found this article informative and we hope to see you back on the blog soon! Here at The Breast Place, we are dedicated to helping you feel more confident in your skin. We offer injectable treatments such as Botox, Juvéderm, and Dysport, as well as other facial rejuvenation services such as laser treatment and more! Additionally, we offer breast imaging services and provide consultations, clinical breast exams, and dedicated treatment plans. We strongly encourage you to reach out to us for a consultation if you have any questions or concerns pertaining to our service areas– We are committed to empowering women, and we are proud to offer treatments and products to help you look and feel your best. Thank you for taking the time to read today’s article and we hope you’ll check back in for future posts about treatments, wellness, and more!

The key to great skin lies within your daily routine. This includes the products you use and how you treat your skin overall on a daily basis. We discussed protecting your skin from the sun, developing a skincare routine, and treating your skin gently. If you’re interested in learning more about those aspects of taking care of your skin, we encourage you to check out our last post! Before we continue with today’s topic, we’d like to make you aware of what we have to offer at The Breast Place this month. May is officially here! The weather continues to get more and more beautiful and we hope you are feeling just as great. This month we have special pricing on our new service that we are so proud to offer; EMSELLA, a breakthrough treatment for incontinence. (You can learn more about incontinence and pelvic floor therapy in one of our previous blogs or learn more about EMSELLA on our website!) Additionally, we are offering 25% treatments and products for moms and graduates this month! Although Mother’s Day has already passed, we think this is a great excuse to treat your mom – or yourself! – to one of our many services. We hope to see you at our aesthetic clinic soon! Today, we’ll be continuing to talk about how to take care of your skin! As we’ve stated previously, the skin is your body’s largest organ, so protecting it should be a huge priority! As women, we are almost always concerned about our appearance. Everyone wants gorgeous, youthful-looking skin, and luckily there are many ways to achieve that through everyday habits. If you’re ready to learn more about how to achieve a healthy, glowing complexion at home, stick around! Let’s get started. Eat Your Way To Healthy Skin We all know that nutrition is extremely important for our health and wellbeing, but did you know it can benefit your skin as well? What you eat can have a significant impact on the health and aging of your skin. For example, consuming healthy fats can be extremely beneficial. This can include consuming fatty fish, such as salmon and mackerel, which are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, or fish oil supplements. Omega-3 fatty acids are nutrients that are crucial to maintaining skin health– They keep skin thick, supple, and moisturized. They regulate the skin’s oil production, reduce breakouts, and minimize signs of aging. Omega-3s improve the fatty acid composition of your skin and balance its inflammatory response, helping it stay softer and less inflamed. Less inflammation means reduced redness and acne! Research also suggests that omega-3 supplements can help lessen your skin’s sensitivity to UV rays and may prevent skin cancer. Additionally, fatty fish is a source of vitamin E, which is an important antioxidant for the skin. Avocados are another food source packed with healthy fats, as well as vitamins and minerals. They are rich in monounsaturated fat, a type of healthy fat as opposed to saturated or trans fats. A 2010 study found that a high intake of the healthy fat found in avocados helped to increase skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Just like omega-3s, avocados may also protect your skin from sun damage and are a source of vitamin E. They also contain vitamin C, which is essential for producing collagen, a protein that helps keep your skin strong and healthy. Minimize Stress This one might seem easier said than done– We can’t exactly eliminate or avoid stress or obstacles that life throws at us. However, there are ways you can effectively manage stress and give yourself some peace of mind. When we experience stress, a hormone called cortisol spikes– Prolonged spikes of this hormone can lead to skin problems, as well as increased inflammation in the body. This can cause flare-ups of acne, eczema, and other skin conditions, and intense stress over time can lead to early signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles. Because of this, it is important to do what you can to manage stress. One way to do this is by creating and maintaining a skincare routine, as we mentioned in our previous post. Not only can the products you use be beneficial for your skin, but setting some time aside every day to pamper yourself is a great way to destress– It’s a form of self-care. Self-care has become a hot topic in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Any form of self-care is great for your overall well-being and for your skin. (Check out our blog about self-care tips here!) Additionally, practicing mindfulness can be a great way to manage and reduce stress. Mindfulness is the intense focus of paying attention to one thing, such as what you are thinking or feeling at the moment. This can be done in many ways, but some of the most common ways of practicing mindfulness are through meditation or yoga. Some of the benefits of meditation include reducing negative emotions, lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, and gaining a new perspective on stressful situations. Since meditation minimizes your body’s inflammatory response to stress, it can also smooth and plump the skin. Get Your Beauty Sleep Yes, there’s actually a good reason behind the phrase “beauty sleep”! Not only does a good night’s sleep help you wake up energized, but it also allows your skin time for healing. When we sleep, cortisol (the stress hormone) decreases, and melatonin (the sleep hormone) increases– This means that your body and skin are in “repair mode” while you sleep. Studies show that new skin cells grow faster while we sleep, and overnight, our bodies are healing from the damage we may have sustained from UV rays. Our skin also produces new collagen while we sleep, which helps prevent sagging by making the skin plumper. Sleep deprivation decreases blood flow to the skin surrounding your face, creating a dull complexion. Therefore, getting adequate sleep can lead to brighter and less puffy eyes and youthful, glowing skin with fewer wrinkles! As you can see, there are many ways you can care for your skin at home! We hope you found this two-part article helpful! Here at The Breast Place, we are dedicated to helping you feel more confident in your skin. We offer facial rejuvenation services including dermal fillers, laser treatment, and more! Additionally, we offer breast imaging services and provide consultations, clinical breast exams, and dedicated treatment plans. Our last article talked about incontinence, which is a lack of bladder control caused by a weakening of the muscles in the pelvic floor. Incontinence affects over 19 million women in the United States, but more than half of those who suffer do not seek help or discuss their concerns with anyone. Incontinence can be caused by childbirth, menopause, or the natural aging process. Medication given for breast cancer treatment can induce early menopause, resulting in incontinence. If you are interested in learning more about incontinence and the pelvic floor therapy treatment we offer here at The Breast Place, we encourage you to give our last article a read! Before we dive into today’s topic, we’d like to make you aware of what we have to offer at The Breast Place this April. Spring is here! The weather is beautiful and we hope you are feeling just as great. Our product of the month is the ProHeal Serum from iS Clinical. This restorative and antioxidant-rich serum is 20% off this month, so stop by our office to snag yours, or contact us so we can ship it directly to you! Today, we’ll be discussing ways that you can take care of your skin. The skin is your body’s largest organ, so protecting it should be a huge priority! As women, we are almost always concerned about our appearance. After all, who doesn’t want gorgeous, youthful-looking skin?! What you may not know is that the key to great skin lies within your daily routine– A lot of it has to do with how well you are taking care of your skin. Luckily, there are many ways you can care for your skin at home, and we’ll be talking about just a few of them today! If you’re interested in learning more about how you can achieve and maintain glowing skin at home, you’re in the right place! Let’s get right into it. Protect Your Skin From the Sun One of the most important, yet arguably overlooked, ways to achieve healthy, youthful skin is by protecting it from the sun. Too much exposure to ultraviolet light, or UV rays, can damage skin cells and even lead to skin cancer. Sun damage is one of the leading causes of aging skin, due to the fact that UV rays penetrate the skin and damage elastic fibers that keep skin firm. This, in turn, causes wrinkles to develop. The good news is that sun damage can be avoided by using sunscreen. Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or greater– And apply it daily. Yes, sunscreen should be used every day, even when it’s not exactly sunny out. The sun emits UV rays year-round, no matter the weather or season. Even on overcast days, up to 80% of the sun’s radiation reaches the Earth. It is also important to keep in mind that your face is not the only part of your skin that needs to be protected. Sunscreen should be applied to any part of the skin exposed to the sun. So, whether you’re walking your dog, doing some gardening, or sitting by the pool, you’ll want to put on some sunscreen! You can also protect your skin from the sun by wearing a wide-brimmed hat and by avoiding sunbathing. Unfortunately, seeing a suntan means skin damage has occurred. Try opting for a self-tanner instead! Develop a Skincare Routine Another great way to care for your skin is by developing a skincare routine– And sticking to it! The first step to creating a skincare routine is by determining your skin type. Generally, there are 5 different skin types: Normal, dry, combination, oily, and sensitive. Let’s take a closer look at what these skin types look like:
Determining your skin type will help you determine what products to use. For example, there are products that are fragrance-free, which would best suit sensitive skin, and products that are alcohol-free, which are great for dry skin, and so on. A basic skincare routine should include a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Even if you have oily skin, you’ll still want to moisturize– Moisturizers help hold the water in the outer layer of the skin to keep it hydrated. You don’t want to lose your skin’s hydration or natural oils, as that can result in your skin ramping up its oil production to compensate. Yikes! If you want a more in-depth skincare routine, you can incorporate other products into your regimen, such as toners and serums. Be Gentle No matter what products you decide to incorporate into your skincare routine or use on your skin periodically, you’ll want to be gentle– Especially on your face. Things like daily cleansing and shaving can take a toll on your skin over time. With that in mind, you’ll want to avoid harsh products that can do more harm than good to your skin. Strong cleansers and soaps can strip the natural oils from your skin, so opt for mild products. Cleansers and soaps aren’t the only things to be careful of, however. Things such as hot water and long baths can also strip oils from your skin, drying it out. It can also damage the surface of the skin, and over time this can develop into more serious skin problems such as inflammation and eczema. Long, hot showers can also worsen acne and psoriasis. To avoid this, try cutting down your shower or bath time, and use warm water rather than hot. You should also treat your skin gently by shaving carefully. Repeated shaving can cause inflamed hair follicles, itching, and ingrown hairs. Since shaving affects the upper layer of skin, it can dry it out and make you more prone to outside irritation. A good way to combat this is by applying a shower cream or gel before shaving. This lubricates the skin and protects it. You should also use a clean, sharp razor, and be sure to shave in the direction that your hair grows, rather than against it! Another way to care for your skin is by patting dry with a towel after washing or bathing, rather than rubbing a rough towel all over your skin. This is not only gentle on your skin, but helps retain some moisture. As you can see, there are many simple ways you can care for your skin at home and help maintain a youthful appearance. These were just a few of the ways you can take care of your skin, and there are more to come in our next blog! We hope you found this article helpful, and we hope to see you back for part two! Here at The Breast Place, we are dedicated to helping you feel more confident in your skin. We offer facial rejuvenation services including dermal fillers, laser treatment, and more! Sometimes what we can personally for our skin doesn't produce the results we want, nor do we have the power to fix certain things that our bodies do naturally. That's where The Breast Place can come in! With many of our treatments, your skin can look and feel as you desire! One of our most popular treatments is Cutera's Excel V+! Hello readers, friends, warriors, and supporters! We are thrilled that you've found yourself at The Breast Place blog. We hope you're staying healthy and well, and just like everything else, taking it one day at a time! With the ongoing health threat of the pandemic and the winter blues that set in this time of year, it's hard to stay focused, on track, and on schedule. We hope you enjoyed our last blog discussing how you can nurture and care for your self-esteem and self-confidence as an adult and through the difficult challenges life puts us all through! This time of year makes many of our readers blue, which we understand! Keep the advice we discussed in our last blog close to heart for that reason, and to make every day a little easier. One of the through lines of our last blog was that the treatments we offer in our offices help with several things that can affect our self-esteem like signs of aging, loose skin, stretch marks, difficult pockets of fat, wrinkles, scarring, body hair, rosacea, and scars left behind from acne. With our products from Enuron, tru Sculpt iD, Secret RF, body contouring, laser hair removal, and Excel V+, these issues can become issues of the past. Skin rejuvenation on the face is one of our most popular treatments. Secret RF is one of those treatments which we've already talked about in previous blogs. Today, we are going to be talking about Excel V+, our second option for facial rejuvenation! Our skin rejuvenation services can help keep you looking young even after the effects of treatment, raising children, menopause, and getting through life's challenges. Laser resurfacing is used to address pigmentation issues like melasma and sunspots, and micro-needling with radiofrequency is used to help with the promotion of rebuilding your collagen with no downtime. This can be achieved with Secret RF. Laser resurfacing is the newest technology aiding in rejuvenation and antiaging. If you are concerned with fine lines, wrinkles, or redness like rosacea, our Cutera Excel V+ laser treatments are perfect for you! Paired with the best skin products for optimal results, we hope to empower you to look and feel your best at all times and through all stages of your life. According to Cutera, Excel V + delivers the power to safely treat challenging vascular and pigmentary conditions and today's most common skin concerns! What's Excel V+ and What Does It Entail? As we've talked about many times before, and what we understand ourselves, is that over the years our skin naturally takes a beating no matter how much we care for it. Excel V+ by Cutera is an incredibly safe laser technology that is very effective with treating excessive redness, enlarged pores, age spots, fine-line wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin texture. How does it work? Excel V+ delivers wavelengths to targeted areas and these wavelengths are absorbed by the chromophores in our bodies, which are the parts of a molecule responsible for its color (the redness and brown discoloring on our skin). They are also absorbed by melanin, oxyhemoglobin, and water, helping with fine lines and wrinkles. During your treatments, areas on the body can be treated in as small as .5mm and as large as 1mm to ensure precise treatment and to help avoid any tissue damage to the skin that doesn't need treatment. These laser treatments work by stimulating collagen regrowth by heating the upper dermis, which lives way below your skin's surface. Dilated capillaries will receive additional heat to reduce the redness in your skin. Have no fear of this heat, however, because before, during, and after each pulse delivered to the treatment area, Excel V+ will deliver consistent contact cooling. This cooling temperature will be adjusted to your comfort levels. Another great perk? This is another wonderful non-surgical treatment that can be done without the use of topical anesthetic or gel! Higher energy levels will be used for larger spots and short pulses, with the most advanced wavelengths available, 532 nm. After your treatments, the skin might look slightly red and your dark brown spots might look darker. This will only last a few hours or a few days. You can use makeup to cover up any redness through this period. You will begin to see results in one to three weeks. Redness will decrease, your complexion will improve, and dark spots will flake off and fade. It is recommended to avoid sun exposure after treatment. Excel V+ will help bring a youthful glow to your skin, smooth out your uneven skin texture, reduce your pore sizes, and much more. Each treatment will see more and more improved results and will build on previous improvements. What Are the Benefits of Excel V+? With all of our services and non-surgical services, there are so many benefits that come with each of them! First of all, you might be asking yourself if you're a good candidate for this procedure. If you're considering trying this service, here is a little food for thought. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 14 million people are living with rosacea, and 40% of the population suffers from pigment concerns. If you are wanting to help improve your skin, then it is right for you! What are some of the other benefits you will see and experience with Excel V+?
What Are Some Common Misconceptions About Laser Skin Treatments?
Excel V+ and all of our laser skin treatments offer incredible benefits, with little downtime and hardly if not any side effects. Each service is a great option to help you deal with unwanted issues weighing on your conscience and self-confidence! If you have any questions or concerns, please leave a comment below, and always feel free to reach out to us! Carrying scars that people can and cannot see is something we all battle with that can be incredibly difficult to deal with. They all have their own weight, memory, and story connected to them. Physical scars left behind due to surgery or accident can be unwanted, due to the memories connected to them or just how they make you feel. We have integrated laser technology into our offered services that break down the texture and appearance of scars and improve the cosmetic outcome for our patients. Coupled with top of the line products to enhance your results, a scar revision can decrease the appearance of unwanted scars. From accidental scars to surgical scars, everyone has a scar they wish they could get rid of. If you have ever wanted to improve the appearance of your skin, don't hesitate to contact us for a consultation and customized treatment plan for you. We would like to introduce you to Secret RF. What Is It & What We Do Secret RF is a micro-needling device paired with fractional radiofrequency designed to stimulate and remodel collagen and address the common signs of aging. Using micro-needles that can be adjusted to penetrate at various depths, Secret RF can deliver energy at the necessary levels of the skin to promote anti-aging by addressing fine lines and wrinkles but also to correct the appearance of scars and stretchmarks. Not to be confused with at-home micro-needling rollers that only go to a depth of 0.3 mm MAXIMUM, Secret RF can penetrate up to 3.5 mm below the skin's surface with minimally invasive micro-needles to spare the epidermis and reduce downtime. One of our skilled medical providers will do a full assessment to provide an accurate treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. Actual results may take up to 3 months to be fully appreciated. A Little More Background Information Similar to our laser hair removal procedures (truSculpt ID) Secret RF falls into the noninvasive category of treatment that doesn't give a patient any downtime needed to recover. Non-surgical procedures in the aesthetic world have become very popular, and rightfully so. Who wants to go through a potentially dangerous and painful procedure that takes time to go through and recover from when you don't have to? When it comes to aesthetic procedures, it's hard to justify carving out time in a busy schedule to make anyone happy, especially if it isn't a pleasant experience. Thankfully that is one of the many benefits of Secret RF, it is a non-surgical aesthetic procedure with little or no pain that is followed by little to no down time. According to Cutera, more than 70% of patients are bothered by signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. Secret RF is described as a novel functional radiofrequency micro-needling system for "tissue coagulation and homeostasis designed to stimulate and remodel collagen and address signs of aging" according to Cutera. It is a great tool to also help with the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and scars left behind from acne. How does it work? Sterilized needles are used to create microscopic wounds at precise levels of the dermis while not affecting the epidermis. The heating of the dermis causes collagen production and derma thickness and causes the body to naturally heal around the microscopic wound area. According to Healthline.com, collagen is the most common protein in the body and it creates the framework of your skin and gives the skin its firmness. The production of new collagen can help smooth out unwanted wrinkles and lines in your skin. The microneedles used in the treatment can be adjusted so it can deliver energy at different depths to the skin, so every treatment is tailored to every patient's treatment area and skin type. The microneedles used and the ability to tailor the depths they go into the skin helps keep it as noninvasive as possible, helps spare the skin, and reduces the patient's downtime after the procedure. There are two different types of needles used in a Secret RF treatment, non-insulated and semi-insulated. Having these options allows treatment on all skin types and treatment in challenging areas to be possible and successful. Patients can receive treatment on both the face and the body, and it is a treatment that you can receive all year round. Advantages Of Secret RF
The Con's With all the good, there can be a few things that you need to be aware of with this treatment, and any treatment available to you.
The benefits and realities of Secret RF are so vast that we couldn't recommend it more to our patients. It is a treatment for everyone! If you want to help ease signs of aging, stretch marks, acne scars, and many other benefits, Secret RF is the perfect treatment for you. Calling all warriors, blog readers, friends, and patients! With truSculpt iD, one of our premier services, we can help you reach your goals today! Hello warriors, friends, readers, and all of our supporters! Welcome back to the blog, one of the very last for 2020. We hope the holiday season has been a good one for you and your loved ones, and that you remain healthy and happy while continuing to make safe decisions. With the coming new year, we wanted to switch gears a little in this blog and chat about one of the many premier services that we proudly offer all of our patients, geared to helping you feel your best with ease, truSculpt iD! We are here today to talk a little bit more about the process and the many benefits it can offer your mind, body, and sense of self! Let's talk a little bit about what truSculpt iD is and what it focuses on. We've talked a little bit about truSculpt in the past, but today we wanted to dive deeper into what it can offer and give you in simple, pain-free, and easy treatments. You work hard to take care of your body, what happens when your body just doesn't want to cooperate even with all the hard work you are giving back to it? Also, we live in a world where we want things to happen fast and we want fast results. Thankfully, truSculpt can help provide us with that. Coolscuplting, its predecessor, does offer its own unique technique of helping with weight loss, but only to a certain extent. What is Coolscupting? It is a type of freezing technology that is non-surgical and reduces pockets of fat in trouble spots in your body. It is only cleared to help 9 spots in the body by the FDA. The body does not like the cold and will eliminate frozen and dead cells from the procedure within one to three months, which according to Coolsculpt will help with a 20-25% reduction of fat in the areas you have chosen to target. They state that it is for individuals that are near their ideal body weight, who want to lose just a little more to finally reach their goals. It is not a weight-loss treatment. The idea that it is not an evasive procedure and it is non-surgical is appealing. However, it is targeted at a certain group of people, leaving out quite a population who might want to be treated. It also is only approved for certain parts of the body, and this is where the benefits of coolsculpting end and the benefits of truSculpt iD begin. After babies or challenges in life, unwanted fat can hang around no matter how hard you work. In as little as 15 minutes per treatment, you can target those unwanted areas on your lunch break with no downtime and resume your daily activities immediately. The muffin top, love handles, lower abdomen, and “bra-fat” can all be treated with noninvasive body contouring done in the office. Everyone wants to lose weight fast and create their ideal body with the least invasive option. truSculpt iD from Cutera is a non-invasive fat removal device for quick fat loss. Shape your body by addressing stubborn fat areas directly. truSculpt iD uses the latest body sculpting technology personalized to fit anyone and unlike other devices on the market, there's almost no limit to the areas that can be treated. Studies on truSculpt iD have proven an average of 24% fat loss in a single treatment per area. Unlike Coolsculpting, truSculpt iD not only kills fat cells with every treatment but its innovative heat-based technology addresses skin laxity and helps to firm up the skin so that as the fat cells die off and the area treated becomes smaller, the skin tightens rather than remaining saggy giving that excess skin appearance. If you are concerned with saggy skin following weight loss, a single treatment could help to not only help you get rid of those last few inches but to tighten that skin as well. If Coolsculpt is not the option for you due to cold intolerance or not wanting to be pinched between the paddles, call to schedule a consultation to learn more about truSculpt iD from Cutera. Now that you know a little bit more about truSculpt and its processes, let's talk a little bit more about its many benefits!
There you have it, readers! The many safe and exciting benefits of truSculpt iD. If you have been considering this treatment and have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out and contact us today. Today, we are going to break these molds by debunking the top 5 myths about botox! Hello warriors and welcome back! We hope that Breast Cancer Awareness Month and all of October was wonderful for you and your family! Remember that it is within your power to make every month and every day Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It is up to you to help spread the word, spread awareness, and help fight to find the cure faster than ever before. Stay strong, stay resilient, and keep on fighting! In this first blog of the month, we are going to be stepping into a much different topic than our most recent blogs. While the Breast Place is dedicated to helping women navigate their bodies during their breast cancer treatments and through their survivorship, we offer so much more. Did you know that we also offer a plethora of other services including laser hair removal, facial rejuvenation, body contouring, scar revision, many different kinds of skincare treatments, tru sculpt, and Botox? A lot of people think that many of these services are for certain age groups and not welcomed or accessible to younger audiences. It might surprise you to learn that our youngest patients that we see are in their early 20s and they have had very successful treatments and experiences in our offices. Botox is one of the most popular of these services, and we see a wide range of patients from all age groups for this service. Over time, Botox has attracted a very unique reputation and a lot of people out there believe that only older women use Botox, and it was designed for only them in mind. We are here to tell you just how wrong these connotations are! Due to all of this negativity and the bad reputation that has attached itself to Botox and those who use it, we wanted to debunk some of the top myths out there about Botox! Please note before we begin, that Botox is one of the most common and safest aesthetic treatments out there - and you will be amazed at what all it can do for you. Myth #1 Botox will Freeze My Face and Leave Me Expressionless! Truth: Thanks to pop culture, this idea has been solidified in our minds that if you get Botox you will no longer be able to move your face muscles and your face will be stuck in one expression forever. The only time that your face will even remotely have a slightly frozen reaction is if you get your Botox injections from someone who has poor technique and they don't truly know what they're doing. To help avoid situations like these, please visit us to get the proper treatment or make sure to do in-depth research when choosing where to get your Botox injections. Botox relaxes wrinkle-producing muscles only at the point of injection, and will not affect any other muscles that are involved or help create your facial expressions. After your Botox treatment, you will still have your full range of facial movements and responses all while looking refreshed and rejuvenated. Myth #2: Botox Is Painful Truth: With a trained hand and excellent expertise, the doctors and medical professionals you should be going to you for your injections will make sure that the experience is not painful, does not cause damage, discoloring, or any bruising. Skilled and expert treatment shouldn't be noticeable, meaning the treatments and injections should be done gently and gradually so no one realizes that you're even receiving injections. The needles used for Botox are incredibly thin, and only a small amount of liquid is injected into the skin. If patients feel anything at all, they describe it as a small pinch that only lasts for a few seconds. Myth #3 Botox is Just for Wrinkles Truth: While Botox is most commonly known for the treatment of getting rid of wrinkles and lines today, there are many other aesthetic and medical uses for Botox. As a matter of fact, it was first approved by the FDA and used to help treat a condition called strabismus, which is a flickering and spasming of the eyes. Doctors didn't know that Botox could be used for cosmetic purposes until they treated eye conditions such as this. Today Botox can be used to treat limb spasticity, excessive sweating, over reactive bladders, chronic migraines, cervical dystonia, eyelid muscle spasms, TMJ conditions, back and neck pain, and more. Myth #4 Botox is Dangerous and Toxic Truth: Botox has been used in the aesthetic and medical world for over 20 years. It was officially approved by the FDA in 1989 and is a completely safe treatment. The treatment for it to be used cosmetically came in 2002. The reason why so many think it's toxic is that is connected to the botulinum toxin that is related to the cause of food poisoning. What is injected into your face and body is a purified protein version of this toxin making it extremely nontoxic. To even have some kind of problem or reaction, you would have to have 100 to 300 times the accepted amount of the toxin to cause any problems. Myth #5: Botox is Addictive Truth: There is nothing inside the Botox injection that has an addictive property, and if you choose to stop getting treatments it will not make your wrinkles or lines worse. There is nothing that will physically or chemically make the patient addicted to Botox itself. What people do become dependent on is the results of the injects making them look younger and being so excited and thrilled about the results. The only thing close to addiction is becoming very reliant on the results and the patient's features and has nothing to do with the injection itself. How do you feel about Botox now? For our readers, do you feel a little more comfortable with the idea of Botox? Are you excited to try it out? We couldn't blame you if you were! That's what we are hoping for you to feel! Please remember that Botox is also not just for one type of person, one age group, or just women. Botox has incredible benefits for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns about Botox, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to speak with you about the many ways Botox could improve your life. While this blog was dedicated to skincare and much more, we are still the best breast cancer center in Charleston! Be well out there, we know that you're fighting hard.
