What's Excel V+ and What Does It Entail?
As we've talked about many times before, and what we understand ourselves, is that over the years our skin naturally takes a beating no matter how much we care for it. Excel V+ by Cutera is an incredibly safe laser technology that is very effective with treating excessive redness, enlarged pores, age spots, fine-line wrinkles, scars, and uneven skin texture. How does it work? Excel V+ delivers wavelengths to targeted areas and these wavelengths are absorbed by the chromophores in our bodies, which are the parts of a molecule responsible for its color (the redness and brown discoloring on our skin). They are also absorbed by melanin, oxyhemoglobin, and water, helping with fine lines and wrinkles.

During your treatments, areas on the body can be treated in as small as .5mm and as large as 1mm to ensure precise treatment and to help avoid any tissue damage to the skin that doesn't need treatment. These laser treatments work by stimulating collagen regrowth by heating the upper dermis, which lives way below your skin's surface. Dilated capillaries will receive additional heat to reduce the redness in your skin. Have no fear of this heat, however, because before, during, and after each pulse delivered to the treatment area, Excel V+ will deliver consistent contact cooling. #3 Lasers are painful!
- While they can be used as weapons, when it comes to aesthetic care these lasers should never hurt. While many patients will feel a little bit of pressure or a feeling similar to pinching, it should never be painful. When a more powerful laser is being used or a laser is being used on sensitive areas of the body, a topical anesthetic can be applied.
#4 The lasers will burn me!
- Similar to feeling pain, you should not get burnt. As long as you are being treated by a professional who has been trained properly (as we have) this will not be an issue.
#5 Lasers only help the surface of the skin.

Hello to all of our warriors, friends, supporters, and readers! We are here for those incredible warriors who are fighting every day against that tyrant silent killer, breast cancer, and for those who are looking to support their body's natural health to make them feel better with a multitude of skin and body care. So, that inspired us to give a little blog overview on some of our many services and why they are both important and beneficial to those who get them!

Sometimes hair doesn't always grow where you want it to. It certainly can have a mind of its own and appear wherever it chooses to! Hair in unwanted places can affect self-confidence and mental well being, both of which are very important to us and we fight hard to help our patients keep healthy and strong. Treatment can also sometimes affect where and how your hair grows. The Breast Place is now offering laser hair removal in the office with the latest laser technology. One of the biggest reasons why many of our patients get laser hair removal is the cleanliness it offers, and that it helps avoid ingrown hairs. Ingrown hairs can appear in some very inconvenient places, can be very painful, and can lead to some pretty serious infection.
If you are someone who has very sensitive skin and has difficulty with shaving due to the pain and irritation that shaving and waxing can cause you, this is an excellent option to have the smooth skin you want without the irritation and pain.
